My name is Ivonne van Halle and I live partly in the woods of southern Sweden and partly in the Utrecht Museum Quarter of the Netherlands, with my hubby Ceriel and dog Juliette. The last years I have been making my own oilpaint and aquarelpaint because sustainability is important to me.*

Delicate structures and colors in nature and the human skin fascinate and inspire me. My paintings are expressions of desire for an ideal situation for people and a harmonious relationship with nature. A yearning for pure simplicity in contrast to this complex world. The portraits are still, as if the moment is stretching. It contrasts with the universal form of self-sedation through a press-press-press posture.

New work is created because an image 'touches' me and I want to 'capture' it. Gradually, something else often arises, which is more beautiful, I like to allow that. It is an ongoing process, supported by taking courses, reading books, viewing other work and trying techniques. You can call my work realistic.

*Because of my background in chemistry and love for nature, I am interested in which substances are in paint and I discovered that the environment is heavily burdened by paint.
